Night Tour - A Walk in the Dark

Members of the UVA Security and General Safety Committee donned warm clothing and reflective vests for the Fall Night Tour in 2021. They viewed areas with an eye to enhance night safety in terms of lighting, landscaping, sidewalks, crosswalks, and signage on Grounds and in university parking lots. In all, the Committee reviewed more than 20 sites suggested by faculty, staff and students.

Night Tour 2022 – A Walk in the Dark for Safety

The UVA Security and General Safety Committee is soliciting suggestions for the Fall Night Tour on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.  During the Night Tour, committee members walk areas around Grounds in darkness to assess physical safety conditions, particularly lighting, pathways, crosswalks, and emergency phones; and physical infrastructure hazards, such as sidewalks, stairs, or railings. Please fill out this short survey to submit suggestions and feedback on venues and/or issues to be examined.

Photographs, maps, and diagrams can be uploaded to the survey link. Responses will be accepted through Friday, October 28.
